I had a great time this weekend. It seems like it's been the first time in forever that my husband and I have gotten to spend a little time together. Last weekend my husband had a sound job and was gone all weekend. He didn't get back until very late Sunday because of the snowstorm. The weekend before that we went to a couples conference, which would have been really nice if my husband hadn't have been doing sound for it. (My husband works part time for a sound company owned by a friend. Mostly he goes to concerts and other events and sets up sound equipment and mixes.) We only got about 6 hours of sleep every night, and he was busy most of the rest of the time. The weekend before that we went to visit my parents, which was nice, but isn't the same as a weekend at home.

Church was also really great yesterday. We decided a few months ago that we were going to start looking at different churches and I think we've found the one we want to go to. Our previous church, Valley View, had just started to get a bit pointless. The sermons every week were on topics and I've really been wanting sermons on scripture in order to help me with my growth. It's kind of weird to not be going there anymore, since it was the church we got married in and the church I've been going to since I became a Christian. I'm still involved with their First Place group and a couple's small group there though. Our (hopefully) new church, The Crossing, is really great. They do a section of scripture every Sunday and I'm actually looking forward to it every week rather than just feeling like I should go. Every week I'm surprised at how good it makes me feel to be worshiping God with so many great people, too. The music is much more mellow, which makes it easier to focus on myself and God, rather than the music team.

This weekend I also started making slipcovers for the couch and three chairs. We're still poor students with furniture gleaned from here and there, and it's not like we have lots of money to be spending on matching furniture, but I would like to have it look a little bit less thrown together. Plus it's really nice to have something you can take off and throw in the wash, what with our zoo crawling over everything all the time.

Speaking of zoos, did I mention we got three cats in October? It's quite the zoo. Almost everyone thinks we're nuts, but we really enjoy them all. They are great entertainment.
