So we're pregnant. Yey! It was definitely a surprise, but we are pretty happy about it anyway. I graduate in May, so I'm glad that I'll at least be done with my undergrad work before the baby comes. Heck, I'll even get almost a whole semester off before the baby comes, since the due date is November 17th (or 16th, depending on who you ask.) All of our family is really excited. It's my parent's first grandchild, and my mother in law only has one other grandchild that lives in Alaska, so it will be quite the novelty. I'm afraid that this is going to be a bit like getting 3 blenders for your wedding. Everyone on all sides of the family is all ready to sew, find, or buy whatever they can, and we're not even to two months yet!
Let me tell you some interesting pregnancy symptoms. I'm sure everyone has heard about nausea, fatigue, hormonally based craziness, and having to pee a lot. I have those, but I'm also having some that I never really heard of. First of all, I've gotten two nosebleeds lately, and I don't ever remember having those before. But when I looked it up it said, yes, they are common. I guess it has something to do with a change in blood pressure and blood volume. I've also had some very strange dreams lately. Well, the dreams that I have are always very strange, it's just that I rarely remember them the next day. But lately I've been waking up in the morning able to remember bits and pieces of 4-5 really weird vivid ones. I looked that up too, and it's also common. Personally I think that the reason is just that I'm not sleeping as well and waking up more often, which allows the dreams to stick in my head better. Another symptom is that I have apparently turned into a complete moron. The other day I went out to the car to look for something. I opened 3 doors to look around, when I decided that it wasn't there. So I closed the door and walked away. A few minutes later I realized, "wait a minute, I opened a couple of other doors too…." Last night when I went grocery shopping I left the checkbook in the shopping cart, which wouldn't be so strange, I guess, except I distinctly remember reminding myself to get it before I left.
Spring break is coming up here next week, and I'm really glad. We're through 9 weeks of school now, and it seems like it's going to be forever till the end of classes. I need a break, not just to have a break, but to catch up! Still, I can't quite believe that I'm going to be graduating in May. Four years can seem like a long time, and it's strange to think that I'll be walking out of here in a couple months, degree in hand, actually qualified to hold a real job. Of course no one is hiring right now, but that's beside the point.
My family and I are planning on going camping for a few days this weekend, so I hope it actually warms up. The one thing that I hate about spring, especially around here, is that the weather gets nice for a few days, you think it's actually spring, and then a couple of days later…..it snows.
Bye all!
